People do their best when they're at their best. That's why we support our employees' physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
To face day-to-day challenges our global Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is here to help. EAP is a free confidential service providing assistance, counseling and coaching on personal or work concerns such as stress, grief, chronic illness, relationship and family concerns and referrals to legal and financial resources. EAP is available 24/7 to employees via phone, website, email or messaging. Employees have 8 to 10 free sessions, depending on location.
We offer webinars for all employees on a variety of mental health wellness topics to ensure you can be your best self, at work and at home. Leaders are also provided learning opportunities to develop the skills and confidence to identify and support employees struggling with mental health challenges and guide them to the right resources.
At AbbVie, we understand that our employees’ needs and priorities outside of work change over time. We’re committed to supporting the diverse and evolving needs at every stage of our team’s careers. Our flexible ways of working can help employees work in ways most effective to their individual needs. Flexibility, which varies by role, includes part-time work, job sharing, and hybrid work arrangements for office-based employees.
In addition to statutory leave entitlements, AbbVie offers employees additional leave. This includes three extra days of paid leave per year for AbbVie Appreciation Day (August) and two days of leave between Christmas and New Year during the office closure period. AbbVie also offers two optional days of paid leave for volunteering because it takes all of us to make an impact in our communities.
Your physical and mental health are interconnected. We offer a variety of programs that reduce the stigma around conditions like migraine, menopause and mental health. In doing so, we create space for open dialogue and better access to care, which contributes to stronger individual and team performance.
At AbbVie, we help you take time for family, whether you’re welcoming a new child, ensuring your children have great day care and academic success, or looking after aging loved ones.
No matter your stage in life, our support benefits and programs and generous leave policies help you focus on caring for the people who matter to you.

AbbVie’s flagship wellbeing program is called Vitality. Vitality provides employees with an extensive range of resources to support their wellbeing journey on topics such as exercise, nutrition and sleep. Throughout the year, the Vitality program brings a focus to different topics, often complimented by local events and initiates to ensure employees can be their best self at work and at home.
AbbVie employees across ANZ have access to a range of other great wellbeing resources and second opinion medical services provided through Vivo in Australia and AIA-MyCare in New Zealand.
Regardless of which superannuation fund you decide to choose, AbbVie offers salary continuance, funeral, life and total permanent disability insurance for all employees up to the age of 65. Employees are automatically enrolled into the policy through our provider upon start.
When the unexpected happens, you can count on AbbVie to help. The AbbVie Employee Relief Program (AERP) provides short-term assistance with basic living expenses in response to financial hardship during times of major personal hardship or in the event of a disaster. The AERP, which is part of the AbbVie Foundation, also gives support to children of employees by offering scholarships to help them achieve their full potential.
